ARABIAN GULF (July 18, 2017) The coastal patrol ship USS Thunderbolt (PC 12) conducts passenger transfers with two rigid-hull inflatable boats (RHIB) during a test and proficiency fire evolution of the griffin missile system onboard 5 PC’s in the Arabian Gulf, July 18. Thunderbolt is one of ten coastal patrol ships assigned to Coastal Patrol Squadron (PCRON) 1 home-ported in Manama, Bahrain in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operation.
