171022-N-OW019-018 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Oct. 22, 2017) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Carla Olivares, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), uses a Naval Firefighting Thermal Imager (NFTI) to find hot spots during a general quarters training exercise. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
