171023-N-OW019-169 U.S 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Oct. 23, 2017) Sailors and Marines assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) return from chocking and chaining a UH-60 helicopter of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Joint Aviation Command as the helicopter performs Deck Landing Qualifications (DLQ) on the ship’s flight deck in support of Iron magic 18. Iron Magic 18 is a combined-arms live-fire bilateral engagement meant to expand levels of cooperation, enhance mutual maritime capabilities, and promote long-term regional stability and interoperability between U.S. forces and the United Arab Emirates armed forces.
