171105-N-ZS023-042 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Nov. 5, 2017) Ship’s Serviceman 2nd Class Stephan Graham, a native of Newark, New jersey, scans store products for Marine Corps Sgt. Alan Rooney, a San Diego native, in the amphibious assault ship USS America’s (LHA 6) store. All profits from the ship’s store are returned to the crew through the afloat recreation program. America is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
