The Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard trots the final mile during the annual 49ers Encampment event, Nov. 10, reenacting the wagon train coming off a 100-mile trip across the desert from Wades Monument at du-mount duns in Death Valley. The Death Valley Wagon Train commemorates the first wagon train that passed through Death Valley in 1849 to converge on the gold fields.
