Marielys Ramos-Villanueva, a research civil engineer in the Coastal Hydraulic Laboratory, is one of twenty University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez alumni working as part of recovery efforts in Puerto Rico. Ramos-Villanueva, left, is lead for the northern and central areas of Operation Blue Roof. She and another U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employee, Cynthia Rodriquez, are visiting Victoria's house to order the installation of the protective tarp so Victoria and her family can leave the shelter and return to their home.
