A C-9B Skytrain lifts off from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., in March 2012, outbound on one of its worldwide transport missions in support of DOD. The C-9 is one of three aircraft types that have been operated by Marine Transport Squadron 1 for the past several decades, and will be the only type aircraft of the three to move with the squadron when it transfers to its new base of operations in Fort Worth, Texas, under the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing in late December 2017.
