SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 4, 2018) Third Officer Richard Llewellyn, right, operations and navigation officer aboard the Royal Fleet Auxiliary fast fleet tanker RFA Tidesurge (A138), discusses bridge operations with officers assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during a ship tour. Bonhomme Richard Sailors visited Tidesurge to learn about the ship’s functions and capabilities, and to enhance relationships between the U.S. and U.K. naval forces. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
