Marines and Sailors attending the Lioness Program at Al Asad, Iraq, receive a refresher course in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, March 29. The Lioness Program is being used to ensure proper care is taken while searching female Iraqis, and if needed, the proper techniques for defending themselves. Regimental Combat Team 2 is deployed with II Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation Iraq Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq, Multi-National Forces-West, to develop the Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market base economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
