A 65-foot cement utility pole, weighing 8,000 pounds, is lifted onto a semi-truck, Jan. 12, for distribution to the USACE workforce contracted to restore the electrical power grid in Puerto Rico. Power Precast Products, Corp., based in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The company currently manufactures 35 cement utility poles and base mountings daily for use by USACE Task Force Power Restoration. Plans are underway to increase the daily production total to 42 poles.
