180121-N-XN177-161 YOKOSUKA, Japan – The U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) moves past the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) and the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) to a new position pier side at after leaving dry dock at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka. Blue Ridge is in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 27,000 military and civilian personnel.
