U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Fair, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) team sergeant, chops a rail road tie in half in order to remove it from a unit and inspect it for any material evidence from an aircraft crash site, Xiangkouang province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Nov. 17, 2017. DPAA personnel and augmentees spend their days digging and screening during excavation operations, in hopes of finding missing U.S. service members lost during the Vietnam War.
