    1st Special Forces Group (Airborne)

The 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) Operational Design communicates our commander’s intent throughout our theatres of operation. This design can be found in various locations throughout our compounds at Fort Lewis and Okinawa Japan. This graphic is also commonly used to brief our foreign partners to give them a better understanding of our operational capabilities.

The 1SFG(A) Flash in the corner of the Conus map represents our compound at JBLM, while elements such as the Tori in the middle represents The Groups lineage in the Japanese theatre. The circular arrows in the middle represent the key elements that drive the 1SFG(A) special warfare capabilities while the various continents highlight the Groups area of responsibility.
