MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 10, 2018) Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Michael Sacco measures the distance from the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) to the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12) as it conducts a replenishment-at-sea with the guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), March 10, 2018. Iwo Jima, homeported in Mayport, Florida, is participating in Juniper Cobra 2018 (JC18) and conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. JC18 is a computer-assisted exercise conducted through computer simulations focused on improving combined missile defense capabilities and overall interoperability between the U.S. European Command and Israel Defense Force.
