FORT LEE, Va. (March 28, 2018) -- Col. Jamal E. Wigglesworth, Army Logistics University commandant, left, passes the newly uncased colors of the ALU Support Battalion to Lt. Col. Matthew K. Anastasi during the 71st Transportation Bn. in-activation ceremony March 28 in the ALU Quad area. Also pictured is Command Sgt. Maj. Leabarron J. Bates who helped uncase the Support Bn., colors and will serve as its CSM alongside Anastasi, the commander. The brick red and yellow colors of the 71st Trans. Bn., arrived here in 2010 when it replaced the Student Officer Bn. that was stood up when ALU opened in 2008. ALU comprises three colleges and the Army’s largest noncommissioned officer academy. The Combined Arms Support Command entity provides logistics training and education to thousands of U.S. military members and civilians in addition to international military students from 80 countries on a yearly basis.
