U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 24, 2018) A Sailor assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) directs an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 28 as it lands on the flight deck of the ship. Iwo Jima is homeported in Mayport, Fla., and is on a regularly scheduled deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
