Garcia, from Farmington, N.M., climbs a pilot’s ladder from a rigid-hull inflatable boat to the Harpers Ferry-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) after conducting a rescue and assistance mission for a distressed vessel off the coast of Southern California.
