A British Royal Air Force GR4 Tornado takes on fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker operating out of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing Tuesday during an Operation Iraqi Freedom mission. KC-135 aircrews from the 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron offload about one million pounds of fuel each day to a variety of U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and coalition aircraft. Aerial refueling allows bomber, fighter and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft to maintain a persistent presence over the battlefield.
