Sgt. 1st Class Adam Sokolowski, a Somerville, New Jersey native with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s Service Pistol Team, fires his pistol during The Falling Plate Event at the 2018 World Action Pistol Championships in Columbia, Missouri May 20. The three-day, four-event action pistol competition drew more than 160 competitors from eight countries and 33 states. Sokolowski not only claimed 2nd Place Overall in the World Action Pistol Championships and 1st Place in the proceeding Multigun Match, but the overall Bianchi Cup Champion title just five days later by seizing the Open Division and making history as the first shooting sports athlete in 40 years of the competition to win all three divisions—Production, Metallic and Open—in three consecutive years.
