Joint Base Lewis-McChord – Units from all across the installation came together for a corps size element esprit de corps run to celebrate the Army’s 243rd birthday, led by the commanding general, Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, and the senior enlisted advisor, Command Sergeant Major Tagalicud. The 4-mile run started at Watkins Field after reveille where nearly 20,000 Soldiers exited the field in one massive formation. This I Corps run was the first time in nearly a decade that all the units within I Corps ran together as a single formation, and coincided with the Corps recent centennial birthday.
