U.S. Air Force Vice Chief of Staff, Gen. Stephen W. Wilson, hands over the Warrior Games torch to Special Operations Command Commander, Gen. Raymond A. Thomas III, as a symbolic gesture meaning SOCOM will now be the host of next years games, at the closing ceremony of the DoD Warrior Games, June 9, 2018. The Warrior Games, taking place June 1-9, at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, are a Paralympic-style competition for wounded, and injured service members from all U.S. branches of service and this year include teams from the United Kingdom Armed Forces, Australian Defence Force and Canadian Armed Forces.
