Petty Officer 3rd Class Matt Miga, explosive ordnance disposal technician, left, and Petty Officer 2nd Class John Piowaty, explosive ordnance disposal technician, both from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 2, use a new Power Management Kit. PMK is a lightweight, portable system containing common military rechargeable batteries, a solar-powered blanket, a 1-pound soldier Power Manager unit and "smart" cables to link the SPM with EOD equipment. Navy EOD technicians, a part of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, are a combat force that operate in any environment, all over the world, and are instrumental in clearing the way for further combat operations.
