Air Force District of washington Commander Maj. Gen. James A. Jacobson and his wife Nancy depart Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling following a formal parade at the base, which celebrated its 100 Anniversary Jul 3, 2018. Bolling Field was officially dedicated on 1 July, 1918, after the property was purchased by the War Department and turned over to the Aviation Section of the Signal Corps to serve as the primary aviation facility for the capital city. This new military property was appropriately named for Colonel Raynal C. Bolling, an early vanguard in the quest for Army airmanship. (U.S. Air Force photo by 2nd Lt. Jessica Cicchetto)(Released)
