CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Before the rise of Camp Arifjan’s morning sun on July 12, more than 130 ARCENT soldiers begin their final event in the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) qualification. Soldiers participated in a ruck march carrying a 33-pound rucksack for a distance 3.7 to 7.4 miles in attempt to obtain a bronze, silver or gold GAFPB. Qualified U.S. soldiers may wear the GAFPB badge on their dress uniform. (U.S. Army illustration by Master Sgt. Daniel Palermo)
