Eighth graders Haneefah Syed and Adam Abed work with sixth grader Regina Rodeghiero to prepare the Fire Boltz team rockets for their official launches March 28, 2018, at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California, as part of the STARBASE Los Alamitos participation in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) competition. The middle school students participate in the TARC competition through the STARBASE 2.0 after-school program which focuses on exposing students to the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
