Approximately 70 members of the Nevada Air National Guard traveled to the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center for two days of non-stop professional development training.

According to Chief Master Sgt. Mike Drisdale, the NVANG state command chief, the state enlisted force, while technically proficient, has a need to balance that proficiency with professional development.

“The TEC is the perfect place for us to gather and really focus on the professional development of our enlisted force,” Chief Drisdale said. “Everything we need is here: free lodging, state-of-the-art meeting spaces, and a great dining facility. I really wish we could have brought more and this will definitely be an annual event for the Nevada Air National Guard.”

The group attended training seminars on public speaking, bullet writing, mentoring, and unconscious bias, among others.

For more information on the Professional Development offered by the TEC, please contact Ms. Tammie Smeltzer at tammi.s.smeltzer.civ@mail.mil.
