Robert Bell, an M1 Garand armorer with the Civilian Marksmanship program, poses with the rifle in the CMP store during the CMP National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio, Aug. 3, 2018. The .30 caliber semi-automatic weapon was the standard-issue rifle during World War II and the Korean War. Over the past 65 years, most of the rifles have been rebuilt, refinished, rebarreled and repaired at least once, with few in original condition still today.
