NORFOLK, Va. (Aug. 10, 2018) Capt. Richard McCormack, USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) commanding officer, thanks his wife Peg, for her unwavering support, during the ship’s change of command ceremony at Vista Point onboard Naval Station Norfolk. The change of command ceremony is a time-honored Naval tradition in which the transfer of responsibility, authority, and accountability occurs from one individual to another individual.
