Corporal Nicholas Davis, stableman, works a horse in the round pen during training with the Mounted Color Guard, at the stables on the Yermo Annex aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., Aug. 8, 2017. The Marine came to the MCG with no prior horseman experience and was taught everything from riding skills, to care of the horses and facilities as part of his duties. The MCG travels the country participating in rodeos and parades, and engaging in community relations.
