Bombardier Mua Falemia and other New Zealand soldiers perform a haka during a barbecue aboard Camp Linton, New Zealand on Sept. 5, 2018. Falemia is a mortar commander with 161 Battery, 16th Field Regiment. Violent foot-stamping, rhythmic body slaps, and tongue protrusions accompany loud chants proclaiming the strength, pride, and unity of the home tribe. It has been used to not only intimidate enemies on the battlefield but also to bring groups together in peace. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Harrison Rakhshani)
