Changwon, South Korea – Soldiers from the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) competed at the 2018 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Championships in South Korea from August 31 to September 15. The ISSF World Championships stood as the first opportunity for USA Shooting, which is the national governing body of shooting sports in the United States, to earn coveted Olympic quota spots. And with some outstanding performances, USAMU Soldiers helped Team USA gain “tickets” to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Sgt. 1st Class Michael McPhail, USAMU Soldier and 2016 Olympian, earns a bronze medal in the Men's 3-Position Rifle Final during the 2018 ISSF World Championships.
