On this day in history, Sept. 26, 1918: The American Expeditionary Force (AEF) launches the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, which was the main portion of the final Allied offensive that ended World War I. The Ohio National Guard's 37th “Buckeye” Division, 166th Infantry and 2nd Battalion, 372nd Infantry are all credited with participation in various phases of the largest offensive in U.S. military history.
