U.S. Army Maj. Gen. William Mayville, commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division based out of Fort Riley, Kan., awards the purple heart to several soldiers of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Task Force Duke, Oct. 24. After the ceremony, Mayville visited with key military leaders from TF Duke as part of a multi-day tour of operations in Regional Command-East.
