Streamers and balloons are released into the air signifying the start of the 48th annual Naha Giant Tug-of-War Festival Oct. 7, 2018 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. The annual event is considered the world’s largest tug-of-war, using a 200-meter-long, 43-ton rope. It is held to pray for the prosperity of Okinawa and the good health of all people, according to the Office of the Conservation Society of the Naha Giant Tug-of-War. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by LCpl.
