Col. Michael Garlington, commander of Crane Army Ammunition Activity, presented Operations Research and System Analyst Kristin Allen with her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certificate.

Allen's project examined issues in effectiveness and efficiencies in Crane Army's plating shop. Throughout the project, Allen and her team identified potential issues and produced possible methods to improve processes and increase readiness.

“Completing the process is a huge relief because it was a large time commitment for myself and my team,” Allen said. “This program has given me the opportunity to learn, see and experience what we do here at Crane as a whole, not just within a specific area.”

Crane Army Ammunition Activity produces and provides conventional munitions requirements in support of U.S. Army and Joint Force readiness.
