Pvt. Marie Wittkorn, a parachute rigger with the 647th Quartermaster Company, 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, volunteered to aid in road clearances in central North Carolina during Hurricane Florence recovery operations in September, 2018. Prior to joining the Army, Wittkorn experienced a 1000-year flood in Colorado and had previous experience with high flood waters.
