Sgt. Jacob Ackerson, from Glencoe, Minn., loads his ammunition during pre-combat checks at Camp Buehring, Kuwait on Oct. 27. Ackerson, a driver, is on his second deployment. "Missing my kids, Jayden, Jayjay, and Raelynn, is rough but we've got a lot of folks back home to help us out." In their first 90 days, the 1st Squadron, 94th Cavalry "Iron Rangers," 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division "Red Bulls” provided nearly 700,000 miles of convoy security missions for the draw down from Iraq. The Iron Rangers average three times as many missions as their predecessors in support of Operation New Dawn.
