Sgt. 1st Class Sean Brown, from Cottage Grove, Minn., watches his M2 machine gunner perform headspace and timing checks during pre-combat inspections at Camp Buehring, Kuwait on Oct. 27. Brown, a platoon sergeant, is on his third deployment. “It is hard not going out with the guys like I did last time. But someone had to turn me loose then and now I am one who turns them loose,” said Brown. In their first 90 days, the 1st Squadron, 94th Cavalry "Iron Rangers," 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division "Red Bulls“ provided nearly 700,000 miles of convoy security missions for the draw down from Iraq. The Iron Rangers average three times as many missions as their predecessors in support of Operation New Dawn.
