    1-94 CAV supports the drawdown

First Sgt. Chad Carlson, left, from Big Lake, Minn., reviews a Blue Force Tracker prior to one of his units going on mission to Camp Adder, Iraq on Oct. 27. Carlson is on his third deployment. He is the same age, has the same time in service, and played high school football against his troop commander, Boelk. Said Boelk, “Top is my tactical patience. He is the rock of the unit. 100%. Absolutely. I’d serve the rest of my career with him if they’d let me.” In their first 90 days, the 1st Squadron, 94th Cavalry "Iron Rangers," 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division "Red Bulls" provided nearly 700,000 miles of convoy security missions for the draw down from Iraq. The Iron Rangers average three times as many missions as their predecessors in support of Operation New Dawn.
