Air Force Airmen 1st Class Edward Villanueva and Caprice Barnes, members of the 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard from Channel Islands, Calif., position a “deceased” into a containment bag Nov. 5 during the 2011 Arizona Statewide Vigilant Guard Exercise in Phoenix. The duo is part of a Fatality Search and Recovery Team. Vigilant Guard simulated an improvised nuclear detonation where military and civilian responders united in the aftermath.
