Retired Sgt. Maj. Bob Porter stands up to be recognized as a veteran of World War II during the historical uniform pageant celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Nov. 9. Porter was the first sergeant major of Marine Corps Air Station in 1952. In 2010, he retired from his civilian position as assistant manager of food hospitality at Marine Corps Community Services Hawaii.
