Hill Air Force Base, UT, expressively honored all veterans with this social media tribute and was the initial product in a Veteran Spotlight campaign for Veterans Day 2018. The daily campaign highlighted nine local veterans from various branches of service who served in World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm (Persian Gulf War) Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF – War in Afghanistan), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF – War in Iraq). This design was the first of a 9-day campaign culminating with an animation video for Veterans Day. The custom graphic designs accompanied a daily featured article spotlighting a local veteran on the base website, and was also used on social media to create awareness along with links to the spotlighted individuals. They were collectively published in the Hilltop Times, a weekly newspaper publication at Hill AFB since 1948. The campaign was used to educate viewers about the names and dates of all the conflicts in which the United States was involved. (U.S. Air Force video by David Perry)
