The Marines and sailors of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) bring the aviation combat element compound to life aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Dec. 8. The 3rd MAW (Fwd) personnel are participating in their mission rehearsal exercise before deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom this winter. At the MRX, Marines and sailors must respond to scenarios they may face while deployed to Afghanistan, such as aircraft mishaps or attacks on 3rd MAW (Fwd) convoys.
