Personnel from the Delaware National Guard's 31st Civil Support Team, Weapons of Mass Destruction headquartered in Smyrna, Del., board a C-17 Globemaster III Jan. 11, 2019, at Dover Air Force Base, Del. Five vehicles and team members were being airlifted to Florida to support the Florida National Guard during a large-scale training exercise Jan. 14-18. The 31st CST maintains the capability to mitigate the consequences of any WMD or Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical event, whether natural or man-made. They are experts in WMD effects and NBC defense operations. The C-17 was from the 105th Airlift Wing, Stewart Air National Guard Base, Newburgh, N.Y., supported by a 137th Airlift Squadron aircrew.
