Soldiers assigned to the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division render honors to the colors
while the colors slowly burn out during the annual Burning of the Colors Ceremony, Nov. 30, at Camp Casey, Republic of Korea. This year’s ceremony
commemorates the 68th anniversary of the Korean War Battle of Kunu-Ri in which battalion commander Lt. Col. Alarich Zacherle gave the order to burn
the battalion colors to prevent them from becoming a Chinese war trophy. (U.S. Army Photos by Sgt. Alon J. Humphrey, 3rd ABCT, 1st AD Public Affairs)
