WIESBADEN, Germany - Lt. Gen. Gabor Borondi, Hungarian Defense Forces
deputy commander, and Dr. Gaspar Maroth, Hungarian government commissioner,
were welcomed to the headquarters today with an honor cordon.
Lt. Gen. Christopher Cavoli, U.S. Army Europe commander, Sgt. Maj. Robert
Abernethy, U.S. Army Europe Command Sergeant Major, and U.S. Ambassador to
Hungary David Cornstein were on hand to welcome them.
Borondi, Maroth and Cornstein were here to meet with U.S. Army Europe
leadership and tour various facilities. The purpose of these senior leader
visits is to strengthen the bilateral relationship between allies.
The honor cordon was comprised of Soldiers from the 529th Military Police
Company Honor Guard, and the U.S. Army Europe Band played the Hungarian and
U.S. national anthems.
