PFC Lynnwood Thomas is a 46S, public affairs mass communication specialist, assigned to the 40th Public Affairs Detachment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY, since 8 June 2018. In his seven months there, he has consistently produced media products and taken the initiative to assume a host of additional duties as well. PFC Thomas is the unit armorer, supply representative, a government purchase card holder, has attended drivers’ training and successful graduate of the The Sabalauski Air Assault School where he earned his Air Assault wings. He has also completed the requirements to be validated as a 46S. Recently the Fort Campbell commanding general and command sergeant major recognized PFC Thomas with a Division Coin for his outstanding achievement, physical fitness and Air Assault qualification.
Prior to his assignment in Fort Campbell, Thomas attended the Defense Information School at Fort George G. Meade, MD. He completed the Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course on 31 May 2018 as Honor Graduate and was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 46Q, Public Affairs Specialist in addition to the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
PFC Thomas attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Benning, GA, where he earned his Army Service Ribbon after enlisting in the U.S. Army in November 2017.
