Parker, from Chesapeake, Virginia, performs maintenance on a fire hose nozzle aboard the future USS Charleston (LCS 18). When Charleston is commissioned in its namesake city later this week, it will be the 16th littoral combat ship to enter the fleet and the ninth of the Independence variant.
