Lt. Col. Ken Fredette, an attorney from Newport, Maine, is a judge advocate general (JAG) at the Joint Force Headquarters of the Maine National Guard, in Augusta, Maine. We caught up with him during a unit training assembly at Camp Chamberlain, and asked why he chooses to serve in the Maine Air National Guard.
“To be part of something bigger than yourself, and to understand that we as an individual people have a bigger purpose and we have the opportunity to serve in our communities, state and country. We learn the value of public service and that you are really contributing more to something than just to your self.”
