Marine Corps Col. Christopher R. McCarthy, commanding officer at Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group, was a guest speaker at the Hampton Roads Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps meeting, Jan. 26. McCarthy is an Old Dominion University graduate who was commissioned into the Marine Corps as a second lieutenant through the HRNROTC program in 1986. The native of Jacksonville, N.C. was part of the first class of students to graduate from the HRNROTC program.
